Week 20

What an eventful week it's been. Nancy started attending a prenatal yoga class on Saturday's and Monday's. She's also started taking sign language classes again on Tuesday evenings. She's hoping to use a few simple signs with the baby.

We heard from so many of our friends and family and I'm so glad we got this up and running in time to catch Nancy feeling the baby move for the first time. We're coming up on the halfway point and there should be plenty more "events" to experience.

Stay tuned!

Baby on the Move

Nancy just felt the baby move under her bellybutton! How cool is that! The baby must have been moved by the church service.

Vote Boy or Girl

On the left, you should see a place where you can vote whether you think we'll have a boy or girl. I thought I'd give some background for those who may want to make an educated guess.

My Dad was a first born, my Mom's brother was a first born, I was a first born and my sister's first child is a boy. My Dad's brother had a boy first as did one of his sister's. Even one of my two cousin's with children had a boy first. Finally, the sister of Nancy's Mom had a boy first too.

However, One of my Aunt's had two girls before having a boy. My Mom's brother, being a first born son himself, had a girl first before having a boy and his son (my other cousin with children) had a girl first before having a boy. Finally, Nancy herself only had a sister, no brothers, and that sister had a girl first too.

So, maybe this helps, or maybe it just makes it even more debateable!

Hard to Hide

At 19 weeks, Nancy is really starting to show. Here's a picture from our appointment yesterday. It's sureal sometimes when I see her like this. That's a lot to show for only 6 inches of baby!

Week 19

We started Week 19 today with another visit to our midwife. Nancy had her iron tested and it came back normal. Nancy gained 5 lb.s since our last visit a month ago, so everything seems to be progressing fine. For the first time the midwife measured Nancy's belly. It measured a perfect circle: 18 cm. x cm. Pretty cool since we just wrapped up the 18th week!

While searching for the heartbeat with the doppler, the midwife said she heard a kick! Finding the heartbeat took a little longer this time compared to last. It seems the "Clark 2 Be" is hiding behind the placenta.

After our appointment, traffic was bad so we stopped off at the Korea House restraunt. I had some sushi rolls and Nancy had Chop Chey. I think Nancy was ready to pop!

The First Post for the First Child

The world of Blogs is as new to me as becoming a parent. The feeling of being careful here with my words is probably something that will be with me for the rest of my life as I'll soon have little ears forever listening to what I have to say. It's my intent to share the progress of our pregnancy as we await the child who is soon destined a "Clark 2 Be". Enjoy the journey with us!
